Hello! We have survived the past 3 days of travelling!
We took an 8 hour ferry from Flores to Sumbawa, then a 2 hour bus to the port for buses, then a 12 hour absolutely awful overnight bus to the other side of Sumbawa, then a 2 hour ferry to Lombok, then a 3 hour bus across Lombok, then a 5 hour ferry to Bali, then a 2 hour bus to Denpasar where we finally slept for a good 11 hours.
Today we headed an hour to Tanah Lot-a famous temple just off a black volcanic beach. It wasn't amazing but it was pretty good and broke up the journey. Then we took a 3 hour bus to the other side of Bali, then an hour ferry to Java and then we managed a short trip to this place, deciding it was too late to move any further on. We head to a town near our volcano tomorrow which is 5 hours away. We want to do Mount Bromo the following day at sunrise via a horse, then we'll try to do the 9 hour bus journey to Yogyakarta as quickly as possible.
People have been really mean at times and everyone in the world constantly asks 'Where you go?' whether you have your backpack on or you're just going for something to eat! It drives me mad! Indonesia is far too hectic, everyone screams at you and I think I have passively smoked about 80 cigarettes in the past couple of days, it is hardcore chain smoking here, even on the ferries with 'no smoking' signs.
