It took around 3 hours to get to Kep yesterday, a seaside town. As it's only a small place, there wasn't a map in our guidebook so we thought it'd be small enough to work out. We were wrong. We wandered around for ages with our bags, being harassed and then being messed about by a tuk tuk driver. We finally ended up staying across the road from where we originally got dropped off. Typical.
Yesterday was a bit of a write off with rubbish over priced food, feeling ill again (but I'm much better now) and not doing anything. The best bit was seeing a load of monkeys in the trees by the sea which was quite nice. One was chased by a dog along the floor as well but the dog had no chance.
Kep has a beach about as big as a small bathroom. Really! But it has a laid back island feel to it that has won us over. Today we hired bikes to ride along the road that goes by the sea, separated by a low wall which also makes you think that you're on an island. It was very pleasant. We rode to the 'crab market'. A series of shacks selling seafood. We went to the most expensive recommended in our guidebook. As we're not massive fans of seafood we thought we might as well have some good stuff! The 'shack' exceeded my expectations, it was a wooden restaurant built above the sea, so we sat looking out over the surf below. It was very relaxing. I ordered grilled crab with ginger and Ben had grilled fish and chips. It was the best crab I have ever had. I was expecting a whole crab that I'd have no idea what to do with but I was relieved when meaty legs and claws appeared. I did turn into a proper animal though, I just wanted more meat! I think I scared Ben a bit trying to break off it's joints to find more meat! I was relieved that Ben really liked his too, I didn't want him to be scared of trying more seafood another time. We did spend more than we probably do in a whole day on food in one meal but it was worth it!
We then cycled down by the sea some more to lie in hammocks facing the sea under bamboo shelter reading. It was nice to relax and I've missed being by the sea.
We quite like it here, even though there's not much to do so we might stay here tomorrow or if not, take the 20 minute trip to Kampot, possibly our penultimate stop in Cambodia before heading back to Thailand.

Ben I can't believe they didn't have any muffins to make a chip muffin! And no vinegar either! Amateurs xx
