Mom and I arrived in London on May 25, 2011. We took a coach from Stansted airport to London Liverpool street. We took the underground, the tube, we got a day pass thinking we would have time to go on a tour after we dropped our bags at the hotel. We got to our hotel, the Tune Hotel in Westminster.
After settling into our room we decided to go out, thinking about going on a tour. I called my boyfriend who lives in England to help me find info for the tour, he helped me then told me it as after 11pm! WELL after the tour had begun! Lol So we walked around a bit then headed back to our hotel to rest for the night.
The next morning, May 26, we wanted to see the London Eye, we didn't want to ride it because we are both afraid of heights but instead just see it and take photos of it. We had "off-peak" tube passes so we couldn't take the tube yet, it was before 0930, but the man at the station was very nice and told us how to walk to the London eye, it wasn't too far. So we set off walking. We keep our eyes to the sky to find the Eye. When we found it it was amazing! The view from that area was beautiful! The perfect scene of London! The Eye is right next to the London aquarium, we didn't go but it looked like a nice attraction! We took tons of pictures of the London eye, the Thames river, and Big Ben in the background. We decided to keep walking instead of going back to the tube, Waterloo station was close. So we keep walking towards Big Ben and to Westminster Abbey. The architecture of London is amazing! As we crossed the street behind Big Ben to head to Westminster Abbey I noticed police on horse back so we stopped for a minute and noticed a crowd, there was a regiment of mounted police, they were beautiful, it was nice to see even if it was by chance that we got to see them! We then went to Westminster Abby to take photos, we didn't go in because it cost £16 just to get in. So we took photos outside, it was so cool to see the place where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were married just a month prior!
From Westminster Abbey we walked to the tube where we took the tube to the station near Harrods! We wanted to go to Harrods on our last trip but we didn't make it, so we made it a point to go there this time around! We were in awe as soon as we walked in! It was HUGE and so beautiful! I LOVED the Egyptian rooms and food courts, they were themed. The clothes were all too small and expensive for me but it was so cool to see. Mom got me a Harrods panda and we got chocolates too, OMG the chocolates are SO good! I was in heaven on earth when we walked into that candy and sweets room! It was amazing!
After Harrods we made a special trip to Lucy in Disguise, another stop we missed on our last trip. I LOVE Lily Allen, so I really wanted to go to her store. I loved it! It reminded me of some stores in the French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. We bought 2 bags and a keychain from her store. LOVE the bags! I might be using that as my travel bag from now on, it's HUGE! Then we went to Pollock's Toy Museum. We like to go to places off the beaten path, and this place was well worth the trip. There were so many old toys, it was amazing! Everywhere you looked, in every nook and cranny there were toys!

Then we headed to Piccadilly Circus. I wanted a few more pics this time. I love the energy of London and you really feel it in Piccadilly Circus. After we snapped a few pics we went on walking, to find something for lunch away from Piccadilly Circus to try to find something cheaper. Along the way we found Fortnum & Mason. WOW! Almost as high quality and class as Harrods. It was beautiful and too far outside of my price range. Lol I found chocolate covered scorpions for £6.50 each and chocolate covered ants for about £5! I have seen candy coated bugs before, but not at that price range or in that kind of store.

Mom and I decided we wanted to take some photos of Buckingham Palace during the day this trip, so we headed there. I wanted to find the quickest route so we wouldn't lose the sun, it was getting late. So we took the tube to Green Park and walked through Green Park, it's a straight shot from the Green Park tube station, through the park, to Buckingham Palace! We took a few photos in front of the palace and the Victoria Memorial. We saw a black car leave the palace with a blonde woman driving, mom and I decided it was Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Lol
Then we headed back to the hotel.
That's our second whirl wind tour of London! lol
