The 5 litre bottle of wine!...That wasn't actually that bad, but tasted a bit like vinegar when warm!

From the French Rivera we travelled into Italy, through Pisa and stayed in Florence. The famous 'leaning tower of Pisa' was our first stop in Italy and it was incredibly hot so getting off the bus with air-conditioning was just bearable!! We walked though the markets to get to the tower and there are so many people trying to sell you stuff, especially illegal fake stuff like handbags, sunglasses and jewellery! It's quite funny because when the cops come they all pick up their stuff they have laid out on sheets and run! We did the touristy thing and had the photos holding up the tower.

We stayed in Florence for 2 nights, the first night- the night we found the 5 litre bottle of wine!! We had to buy it, it was a bargin! This was our karaoke night; there was a bar in town all the contiki groups go to…but no karaoke for me!!My beautiful voice didn't need to come out at all!!

Our full day in Florence we started with a walking tour of the main town and attractions in the morning and had the rest of the day free. The river and main bridge in the middle of town are amazing! We decided to have pizza for lunch…when in Italy!! So we went into a small restaurant and ordered, except the main taking our order wasn't too happy with what and how much we ordered so chucked us out! Luckily Giulia speaks Italian so she could understand while he yelled and abused us!!!

We went out for a 'Tuscan Dinner' that night in town, the 5 course pasta and pizza meal was huge and so good!! And of course we all had to try lemon chellow while in Italy! Quite sweet and quite strong! Tonight was also our 'space night'!! My first experience of Long Island Iced Tea!! Space Electronics Disco is a huge club in Florence and we were lucky we were there for the weekend so it was pretty full! Another karaoke club but there is no way I was going near that!! So overall….Florence has a pretty good night life!!
