The next day i decided that instead of staying overnight in Dingle, i would take a day trip, so that i would be spared a day of travel from there to Galway. My two roomates also went on the tour, as well as one other guy from our hostel. as it turned out, we were the ONLY ones on the tour! this was actually awesome because it meant we would get a more personal experience.
We started the trip at a beach, 15 minutes before Dingle town. our driver gave us 45 minutes there. it was so beautiful. it actually reminded me a lot of Hawaii, and then of course i realized that Ireland is an island, a fact i often overlook. The water was sparkling blue, the sand soft and there were other small islands and cliffs in the distance. The water was warm so i went in, despite not having my swimsuit. I could have stayed there all day, and the bus driver even said he would be happy to let us, but we were all eager to see the Dingle peninsula. From there we went to see some beehive huts. ok, so i wasn't listening to the description that well, but these are stone huts that look similar to beehives that farmers used to live in. they are government protected but on this woman's property, so for £2 she will let you visit them. After this we went to a couple photopoints overlooking the ocean. it was fantastic, the water was so clear and tropical, but all the beaches were surrounded by old stone walls, fields filled with sheep and staggering cliffs. We ended the tour in Dingle town, where we got some great seafood and walked around the pier before heading back to Killarney. After resting for a bit we all went out to a pub and had a round of beers before calling it a night.
