After our long day seeing the countryside around Da lat, we booked our bus ticket to Nha Trang for the following lunchtime (Tuesday). That evening we decided to eat at Peace Cafe again as Tu An had promised us good cottage pie for tea the previous night. We also wanted to thank her for arranging such a good tour for us. She spoilt us with free spring rolls and although Ash had the cottage pie, I decided against it and went on her other recommendation of seafood hot pot which was amazing. This place is a home away from home.
We`d decided to join some lads from America, Chris and Kyle, for dinner who we`d met there the previous night. After a few drinks and conversation about our days we decided to hit the karaoke bar. Ash and Chris were most definitely the most up for having a sing song whilst me and Kyle just said we'd come along for the laugh. Luckily it was a small place that was only filled with 5 Vietnamese people and us so Ash and Chris had no hesitations in taking the mic. Chris went first with "Stand By Me" which was then followed by a duet with one of the local bar workers! Ash then went for it singing "When you say nothing at all" by Ronan Keating and "Back for Good" by Take That which I`d like to think was for me. Around 11.30pm everyone but us was left and we were told they were closing. Chris and Ash couldn't resist by finishing with the song "The final countdown". Da Lat doesn't stay open very late as when we got back to our guesthouse, the shutters were down! Luckily after a few bangs we were let in.
On arriving in Nha Trang on Wednesday it was getting late so we ate and then just wandered around to see what we could see. This place had previously been described to me as "Costa Del Crap" which was a pretty fair description. We were disappointed. Nha Trang is meant to be Vietnam's top beach destination but we both agreed that it had nothing on Mui Ne. The following day we decided that there was still nothing much we would do there so we booked our sleeper bus to Hoi An that evening. The rest of our day was spent wandering along the beach, I had a pedicure and my eyebrows threaded for a few pounds whilst Ash kept the ladies entertained. They all think he is very handsome and like a film star! Ash was also kept happy as the wind picked up and he managed to get out on a kite for half an hour. He was the only one out but he really enjoyed it and its another destination he can add to his list.
