When we arrrived in Nelson we were all suprised at how big of a place it seemed, we´d been used to small little towns with not many people! Ash was very happy however as within a few hours we were on the beach and he was having a cheeky kitesurf. This topped his day off nicely whilst we all sat on the beach enjoying the sun and scenery. After a good soak in the hot pools the previous night we all woke up without stiff legs which we had expected after a days hiking. The following day we were still really high from our sky diving adventure and headed off to the west coast; Franz Josef from the beautiful Lake Wanaka. We had a great drive to Queenstown via Akaroa where we managed to indulge in some wine tasting, something Pete had been looking forward to before we'd even left the UK. Ash suddenly decided he wasnt going to be the designated driver which was convienient however we all enjoyed hearing how the wine was made and how the different tastes were acquired before heading to our accomodation for the next 2 nights. We picked our car up around 10am on Wednesday morning and this was the first time we had our own transport on our travel adventure so far.
