I got a huge jamba in the airport for Nina. Great breakfast to start the long day. up at 6am and don't land until 11pm.
They showed "Step Up Revolution" on the plane. Don't worry Dana I didn't watch it without you.
I sat next to a couple of guys who flew helicopters for a private international oil rigging company. One was from Seattle and the other from South Africa. They have no college education but went to commercial chopper school and now get sent on missions. They get sent all over the world and do 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off. They usually get put up in really nice hotels in Europe, but both were just assigned Peru and weren't very happy, because they need to stay in camps in the jungle. There is also a terrorist group called "Shining Path" here that apparently torched 3 of their choppers last month in protest of the environmental destruction and exploitation of their resources.
I still hate plane food. It was a 6.5 hour flight from Houston to Lima and they served us dinner. I got the pasta because it's usually safer, but the little meatballs were blue and looked like huge mold spores.
I still sleep with my eyes wide open. The South African reminded me of this. So did my dried out eyeballs.
Someone on the plane was smoking one of those e-cigarettes. I saw puffs of smoke but thought I was hallucinating. Then I saw her pull it out from under her hoodie. I've never seen someone smoke a cig on a flight before.
