So... we're now already 2 weeks behind on our blogging :) what a surprise that is, but we'll try catch up!
We started the day off early, dropping Jenneen off at her work before grabbing a quick coffee and a bite to eat at the Starbucks around the corner. We had planned to wait for the mall to open to spend some time shopping for Q in VS but the wait was a tad long and we ended up doing a grand tour of Boston.
Our 'walk' took us from the Royal Sonesta across the Charles river and into Beacon hill. From there we followed the Freedom trail trampsing around Boston for an hour or three. Snapping pictures and gawking like tourists do. Unfortunately our chariot to NYC beckoned and we had to say goodbye to Jenneen (who'd we see in a few days anyway) before heading off to South station to board the Peterpan bus.
Apparently it doesn't happen all the time, according to our co-passengers, but the bus broke down along the way. We spent just short of two hours waiting for a bus to replace ours, which had gear issues. We thought it was quite interesting and perhaps a little funny that this had to happen to us, our co-passengers did not. Then again, we didn't have to work the next morning so perhaps the angry looks at our snickers were due to that.
Arriving in NYC pretty exhausted we were in the subway and in front of our hotel in a flash. Hotel 31 (conveniently named for the street), was small but clean, and perfectly suited for our NY adventures!
