After our sad goodbye to the GoonStone wedding group we headed over to our hotel. We ended up staying in South San Francisco because San Francisco is ridiculously expensive. Not even kidding. Luckily I still had some hotel points stored away and we managed to snag a nice deal for 3 nights... the 4th still had to be found. Thank god the hotel had coin based washing and drying machines. By now a crucial addition to our stay for the next few days. We tossed in our stuff and I proceeded to bring back our car. This, it pains me to admit, took severely longer than planned. Apparently the shuttlebus serving our hotel had an identical shuttle bus counterpart serving three hotels with the same name south of the airport. Yes... I took the wrong one.
This meant there was no time for me to chill before we were picked up by Jenneen & her sister for dinner. We first had to make a quick stop at Jennella's house to pick up Karen (also from TUFTS) and Jesse (Janella's significant other). Jennella did warn us for her big dog... but nothing prepares you for Tyrion, just check the pictures! Food was to be had at Tacolicious. After some hassling by a very anxious woman who was very afraid for some reason we were jumping the line we grabbed our table and finished our salsa dip twice(!) with chips before the taco's arrived. And let's just say we need a taco place in Holland too. Clearly. We finished the night walking along the streets, having a beer and re-learning the tipping procedures in US bars.
The next day was an early pick up to go hiking in the nearby hills. Unfortunately, to Q's great dissapointment, Tyrion couldn't come. Despite the weather not being absolutely awesome... quite a bit of fog in fact... the hike was excellent. Better way to see the surrounding area, especially when the sun shone through every now and then, and exercise to boot! The deli-sandwich halfway through was just icing on the cake. We attempted a second hike, but after the wussies (everyone except for Jennealla and me) decided chilling on the wooden benches was preferable over more hiking. So we ended up heading back to Tyrion. I'm not sure who was more excited for playtime, Tyrion or Q. I think we tired him out enough for the day before heading out for Ramen.
Ramen was delicious. For me anyway, Q had the spiciest batch of them all and was crying for most of dinner. Tough for her, but somewhat hilarious for the rest of us and a brilliant excuse to go for froyo again! After froyo we were joined by Karen (again) and her Diego for a few drinks at an Irish pub.
