The first leg of the trip is now complete, and we are in Sao Paulo - the third largest city in the world (apparently!). I was slightly sad to leave Rio, we had had such a brilliant nine days and they really flew by in the end. Plus, we made some really good friends even in the short time we were there and it was a shame to have to leave all them behind. Well, I have done absolutely loads since my last journal, so this might be a long one! The match at the Maracana was really good, even if we (Botafogo) did lose 3-2! On the way there on the metro we were being taught some songs by one of their fans who spoke a bit of English. So in true Jonny fashion I adopted the English hooligan approach and was soon leading the singing myself, banging on the roof of the metro! It was a really enjoyable afternoon though...

Well I made it here ok - although it has not been without incident! On the flight from Paris to Rio we encounted some serious turbulence - to the point where drinks we spilling all over the floor!
