30th April
Well, we’ve now been home 2 weeks and have packed away all our holiday things but have memories that will last forever.
The 2 days cruising back to Southampton after having an amazing sail away party from Cadiz were calm and cool. It was the best sailaway we’ve ever had and on the last night on board we had an amazing show in the theatre where so many of the crew from all over the ship joined in. It was quite moving with everyone singing and dancing.
On the morning we disembarked the six of us, Clare, Peter, Lauren, Mark, Phil and I all met for our last meal together in the restaurant for a sit down breakfast. After our tearful goodbyes we left our floating home for the last 99 nights to collect our 9 cases and find our chauffeur to head home.
Thankfully the weather was fine and sunny and having a little heatwave so we weren’t freezing ! Had only been in for an hour when Emma arrived with our new little grandson Harry for me to see. He is just so beautiful and I just sat and cuddled him for ages. Then went to nursery to pick up Sami who went all silly when he saw me. Sean, Alex, Abigail, Jessica and Olivia I saw on the Sunday when we went on an Easter egg hunt and they’d all grown since I saw them last. I love these cruises but miss the grandchildren so much.
All settled back home now and been in touch with Clare and Lauren. We hope to go up to Wales in October to meet up with them all as they’re firm friends now.
It was a great cruise even with the missed ports and detours so now looking forward to the next one in July.
