“Magical Mystery Cruise!!!!!! “
21st February
SYDNEY
Well, this is our 3rd day in Sydney now and as far as we know we have another full day tomorrow too and leave early on the 24th. The itinerary after that is anyone’s guess but I don’t think we’ll be stopping at Brisbane or Cairns to make up time.....that’s if Cyclone Oma has moved away! If not, we’ll still be here.
Anyway, we’ve had two full days of sightseeing with the first day walking just over 10miles round Sydney! We went to Paddy’s Market, China Town, Darling Harbour and The Rocks. The second day we took the ferry to Watsons Bay which was a very lovely and quaint Bay, complete opposite to Sydney as it was quiet and laid back. Walked round the sandy bay and out through the nature reserve to the lighthouse on the headland. On the way back it started to rain so hopped on the bus that took us back to Circular Quay where the ship was. The rain had stopped by the time we got back so walked all through the botanical gardens and then into the Opera House to take a look around. After dinner on board we walked round the Quay to the Opera House again to watch the 9pm light show that was projected onto one of the roofs of the opera house. Another 9.7 miles walked today so feet are feeling a bit delicate !!!

Today we hopped on a ferry to take us to Manly Bay as there were little blue patches of sky in between the clouds. We with our friends who hadn’t been before and the waves were crashing in onto the beach. Lots of surfers out catching some huge rollers and we sat and watched them whilst having a nice coffee. Walked all along the beach and then back again before stopping for a superb fish and chip lunch. Unfortunately I mistook the tomato ketchup for hot chilli sauce and nearly hit the roof when I ate some!
