CABO SAN LUCAS
Hola from Cabo ! Had a really nice day today and even though we’ve been here a few times its still a nice place to visit. Whilst going over on the second tender of the day we did notice quite a few new buildings springing up along the beach area and round the marina. As soon as I opened the curtains this morning I spotted whales and a rather lively sting ray which leapt out the water just by the ship! Our first mission was to get the local bus to Walmart’s as Phil needed some glue to stick the sole of his trainer down which was flapping off!!! Walked through to the other side of the marina and the bus soon arrived. The bus comprised of two long bench seats facing each other and no springs in the seats. The bus itself left a lot to be desired and they’ve obviously never heard of health and safety or MOT’s! Already seated was a Mexican lady holding a very large basket of vegetables and eggs on her lap, two old men with probably 5 teeth between them who grinned manically at us, a man dressed as if he was going to a rodeo complete with red cowboys boots, and a lady breast feeding a little girl of about 3 years old!!! I can honestly say it was an interesting trip and thankfully only about 10 minutes long!
Walmart’s had excellent free WiFi where I caught up with everyone and after we found some glue and had a wander round we caught the bus back again and made it in one piece!
Wandered all round the marina admiring the big multi million pound yachts and watching the pelicans balance on the little fishing boats tied up along side. Lots of people offering you every trip imaginable, and some trying to sell you jewellery or get you to eat in their restaurant. By lunch time it was getting busy ( and hot ) as it’s a weekend so found Pete and Clare in Senor Frogs and had drinks with them. Fun and games were had but didn’t stay too long and left them to it. Caught the 2.30pm tender back to the ship and spent the rest of the afternoon on the balcony watching the whales. Admittedly they were quite a way out but I could see them ok with the binoculars. One actually leapt right out and slapped back in again and it was right next to a small whale watching boat! Oh, how I would have loved to have been on that boat! I think I would have wet myself with excitement!!!!
