LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA
Over night we sailed to the Malaysian island of Langkawi where we arrived at 8am and yet again a beautiful day. Our tour today was to a very small island just off of Langkawi which was turned into a private day retreat. Three mini buses were waiting for our small group to take us 1/2 hour to a speed boat where it whizzed us over to a landing dock where we were handed ice cold towels to refresh us and whole coconuts for a drink. We found sunbeds and towels waiting for us on a white sand beach facing the sea. After a dip and a cool down we went on the Zip Wire over the sea onto the beach which was great fun and also the swings they had in the sea . If you felt energetic there were some inflatables you could swim out to or just relax. About midday they came round and asked if anyone wanted to go out for a ride on the speed boat which we did. It was great whizzing out over the water watching for dolphins, which we saw, plus lots of huge jellyfish! When we returned 1/2 hour later a buffet lunch and drinks was served under big awnings. Excellent lunch and after more swimming we had to return to the ship. A great day out which I would recommend.
In the evening we went to the show where a comedian/ juggler was on and even though I didn’t really fancy it much I went to anyway. Oh my god! I’m so glad I did! He was absolutely hilarious and had Phil and another man up on stage “helping” him and had Phil dressed up as Where’s Wally? I was crying with laughter as was everyone else and then to top it all we won the quiz afterwards! Great day all round and now 2 days to rest until we get to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

AT SEA
Two most beautiful, calm, hot sea days to recuperate after 4 busy days. Spent both days either laying out reading, playing quoits or taking frequent dips in the pool to cool down. The Ocean has been so flat and calm it looked like a mirror and this morning at 9am the air temperature was 29 degrees.... and so was the sea! Obviously when it’s so calm you can see dolphins and whales very easily which we have done but very sadly we’ve also seen lots of floating rubbish too, especially near Malaysia. It’s so true that our beautiful oceans are being contaminated with plastics and rubbish which is very sad.
