HONG KONG
After docking yesterday morning the sun did eventually come out at about midday and we had a really lovely afternoon. Our ship was docked right next to the Star Ferries Terminal so once off we we’re right in the heart of Kowloon on the mainland. As we’ve been to HK a few times and had a holiday there we have seen most of the main sights so decided to walk right up Nathan Road to the Ladies Market. The buzz, sounds and smells of HK was just as we remembered them and only stopped for coffee at lunch time by which time the sun had come through. We did find 3 temples though that we hadn’t seen so had a quick walk round those before heading back to the ship to get ready for our evening dinner and dance. For the last few years P&O have put on a do for the top tier people who are doing the whole world Cruise so in the evening in our formal clothes we headed off to the 5 star Langham Hotel. Coaches were laid on to ferry us back and forth and a champagne reception was held beforehand. In the dining room tables were laid out and two stunning ladies were dressed as the national flower to greet us. Dinner wasn’t that wonderful ( for a 5 star hotel !) and service was lacking but we had a great time afterwards with dancing to a live group and a traditional dragon display. Unfortunately the evening ended with Phil tripping up and cutting his eye lid which needed stitches but he’s fine.

2ND day in HONG KONG
Didn’t wake up until gone 8am and after breakfast set off to take the train over to HK island and then the bus up to Stanley market. It’s a lovely ride on the top of the bus as you go all along the coast road with spectacular views. Had a browse round and a walk along the front which now has a lovely new promenade since the last time we were there. Took the direct bus back which brought us back to the ship where we met our friend who works on the ship. She had never been to HK before so we went with her right up to the Ladies market again as she didn’t want to go on her own. By the time we got back after walking along the front by the Peninsula Hotel it was gone 6pm so a rush for dinner! I hit the sack after as I was shattered but Phil stayed up to do the quiz.
Sunny all day with temperatures up to 24 degrees so ideal for walking and sightseeing. Set sail at 11pm for our next stop in Vietnam.

AT SEA
A day of rest after 2 very full days so flat out in the sunbed reading my book. The China Sea is an extremely busy place with big tankers and little fishing boats bobbing around. Very calm today getting up to 26 degrees and a hazy sun trying to get through.
