After 7 months in Brisbane it was time to move on and see some more of Australia. Now to be honest, my plan for a long time had been to get sponsored at my sales job and stay put but alas things don't always go to plan. Sponsorship fell through as the company was not in a position to do it and sadly I had to say goodbye to brisbane for a while (Australia working holiday visa allows you to only work a maximum of 6 months with any one employer) Next up was some travel followed by 88 days of regional work in order to qualify for a second working holiday visa.
So I flee to sydney for Christmas and New Years, where I met up with Anna who had left Brisbane for Melbourne a month earlier. I stayed with my friend Cliona for a few nights, had christmas dinner with her and her housemates followed by some days on Bondi Beach. Then I visited my friend and old work mate Penny at Manly Beach and spent New Years with them. We watched the Sydney harbour fireworks from a spot at Cremorne point and partied at Manly. A few days later I went on a road trip from Sydney to Melbourne in a motor home with some new friends. We spent 3 days traveling down the coast and stopping at various beaches on the way. In Melbourne I stayed with my cousin Sinead and her boyfriend and their Irish housemates, I also shared the living room with our English cousin Clare who had just arrived in Australia. In Melbourne I hung out with my old housemate Baraq who had decided to move to Melbourne in December after his 2 favourite housemates Anna and Aoife left Brisbane! So the 3 of us spent many days exploring Melbourne's cafes and chilling out together like the old days! Anna and I decided to try to find farm work together as both our visas will expire around the same time. So we spent a few weeks calling the harvest hotline, phoning farmers and replying to farm jobs on gumtree. Eventually we got a message from Steve the raspberry farmer to go to Wandin East to start picking that week!
