Hey again...I am getting better at this updating stuff
I am in the lovely and expensive town of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. I have been here since Sunday afternoon and am leaving to go up to Rainbow Beach and Hervey Bay in about an hour so that I can start my Fraser Island safari tomorrow morning. Can't wait.
On Saturday I got up early in the awesome cold bus, wrote in my journal then packed away my things so that I could put them in Adrian's car outside as he was dropping me in the city; before I left I had some toast and Robbie gave me the latest about the cyclone (cyclone Odette). When I got to Palace hostel I met Anaick and snuck in as there was still a spare bed in her room that hadn't been used in weeks so managed another free nights accomodation. We then walked down to the southbank of the city to look at the market and the 'beach' and after a quick shop (I bought a nice t-shirt and hat) and a shower we both got on the train to my cousins for a BBQ about 5ish. Adrian had a load of mates round so after the tasty aussie barbeque we sat around, drank and chatted for a few hours; while the others played poker me and Adrian had an insanely long game of darts which took over an hour (might get some practice when I get back). Eventually people began to move and get ready so after the start of the Liverpool vs Man United game me, Anaick, Adrain and a couple of his mates grabbed a lift to Fortitude Valley ('the valley'). We watched the rest of the footy in the Elephant and Wheelbarrow pub and was a tad shocked to see us lose again to a crap late goal when we domintaed the entire game (Nick your team is just bloody lucky). Afterwards I was a bit down so downed 3 Jaggerbombs and a pint and was eventually dragged out the pub by the rest of them to go to the Fringe Bar where we spent a couple of hours before everyone went home and we walked back to the hostel. I finally got to sleep at 4.30am to wake up at 6am for the bus (was attempting to get no sleep).
I had a fantastic hours sleep and was at the bus on time at 6.30am changed, showered and packed...a bit of a change to the fiasco in Sydney. Our driver was Adam again which was cool as he's a sound guy. We drove for an hour (I was shattered to had some shut eye) to a petrol station, had some food and I knicked some newspaper cuttins of the cylone then about a minute from there we stopped to go for a walk up a hill...at 8.30am in the heat and as I was dehydrated and tired wasn't particularly up for it. The walk up was as expected and the view from the top was not quite enough to justify it.haha; it was of the Glasshouse mountains and the sea in the distance (we had insect repllenant on as there was a tonne of mosquitos). After getting back in the cool bus it was around an hour and half to Noosa, stopping in Mooloolaba on the way and listening toa funny cd of prnak calls on the radio. We arrived in Noosa after 11 waited an hour for the hostel bus to pick us up (not funny) and take us up the hill to the Koala Beach resort (not next to a beach); the hostel is quite large and has nice rooms with en suite bathrooms and a swimming pool but nothing compared to the Holiday Village in Byron Bay. Me and Anaick chilled for a bit then got the courtesy bus to the Noosa's main beach (relaxed and not too busy beach with some good waves- two sets as a sand bank about 50m out to sea) and just went in the sea and slept for a while before heading back to the hostel. We went in the pool, got ready for the 7 dollars 50 BBQ and sat down on a bench waiting with 3 girls we met off the bus (Hannah, Hannah and Sophie). The food consisted of one one plate of basically salad, potoato wedges and a lonely piece of chicken so was a little dissappointed cause I was so so hungry. Everyone felt the same so we got some crisps (chips in oz) and cookies from subway, came back and drank in teh Koala bar while the Karaoke was on; it was a funny evening with loads of random songs and people singing them. After a few jugs of beer and cocktails we sat around outside for a while (bar closed at 12) then I went to bed.
Well I am almost up to date being up to Monday...its good enough!
Will attempt to finish off Monday to Wednesday later today
