After a long drive we arrived in the small town of Teanau and after visiting the info centre decided to head half way up the well known Milford Road towards the Milford Sounds. We were excited to travel to Dunedin as it was our first city since Christchurch however our arrival got off to a slight hitch, as there was no freedom campsites nor was there any D.O.C sites(not sure what it stands for at a guess - Department of Conservation?) which only charge a small fee. Our next stop was the breath taking Lake Tekapo, so large it looks like an ocean. The water is crystal clear and shimmers under the sun bright turquoise. We arrived in Christchurch after (yet another!) delayed flight. It was wet, late and cold and we were not happy as we headed straight to our motel.
