Lancaster County, Amish. An excellent afternoon, developing a much deeper appreciation of the Amish.
Visited an Amish farm and looked around together with an embroidery shop on the farm. Amish ban stuff which will have a negative effect on family values, it's all about family. There is however a fair degree of freedom as they make decisions about their future after "rumspringa".

Even births, marriages, funerals and Sunday church happens in the home. They have a church wagon that carries the seating benches, hymnbooks etc as all the families in the church district take turns hosting church on Sunday. Everyone stays for lunch after as well.
30 families, about 150 people who have a bishop, 2 ministers and a deacon, nominated, but then elected by lot. They keep their usual work, perform the extra duties for no payment and are
elected for life.
Lovely peaceful people. I loved it.
