Great dinner at Giovannis on Decatur St..... Everything's bigger in America, even the garlic bread

Wonderful relaxing day. Took a tour to a plantation mansion on theMississippi, Oak Alley. Creole mansion from the 1800s, right on the river. People could walk out the front door jump on a river boat and end up in New 'Orlins'. The bus tour out was really interesting too, through the swamps, marshes, and bayous. Bit of shopping after and out to dinner. Try a different street tonight, Decatur.

Found a Lutheran Church to go to, Zion at 1924 St Charles. We walked there, about 35 minutes, very hot in sun. Got there early and found a nice little cafe with wifi across the street to have a drink and wait before the worship at 10.45. Used up roaming allowance already so communication will be mainly blog and gmail.

Eat coriander or die, says Kathy. It's in everything! Even the salad in her beef taco. Shopping and late lunch at the Riverwalk Mall, which leads onto the cruise ship terminal on the Mississippi River. Grabbed a few bargains.

Church this morning was like the stuff Kathy and I grew up with. It was nice to sing a couple of the old hymns, but also sad to see the church not keeping pace to provide what is perceived as relevant by younger people. They were very nice and we spent time chatting at morning tea after the service. The walk back along Magazine St was very hot and we needed a little rest before venturing out again.
