We had a look at the magnificent Cathedral, St Martins, and then we all went to church at St Georges, Church of England. Liturgy (in English) from 1929, but still meaningful . Sermon great, punchy and 10 minutes.

Here we are in the little cupboard space we have in "The Poppies" School Hotel in Ypres. Off to visit a Catholic Church - service in Flemish, then an Anglican to worship. The students are amazing musicians but also very normal teenagers- very interesting to travel with.

The band played at the Menin Gate ceremony in front of a quite a large crowd (perhaps 700). The ceremony was really moving, the band did a great job, and 2 students laid a wreath. The day was spent with the band in rehearsal, with a visit to the Flanders Fields museum and a walk around Ieper in the afternoon. Delightful town. Plenty of chocolate shops. Weather was pretty good as the wind died down which made a big difference.

With the WFT group, in Ieper, dinner and visit to Menin Gate. Walk through square on way home. Everyone freezing! Interesting rooms and bedding.
