Seeing as we´ve been here for 3 weeks, im just going to give an over view of whats happend as some of it to be honest, well...its a blur.
145-166
To put in simply heres what we´ve done
- Copa Cabana beach sun bathing, sea, relax
-Ipanema sunday hippie market
-Ipanema beach sun bathing
-Samba club- santa teresa, a few drinks and an enjoyable night of samba and funk music with brazillians and live music.
-Lapa Street party, rios best night spot and biggest street party. We partied in a shell garage where there were boy racers pumping their sound system, and the drink was cheap.
- Christ the reedemer- Went to see the big statue and national landmark/treasure on d´s 22nd bday. Huge statue, very surreal seeing it up close when its visible from miles away. Also spectacular views of rio and the ocean
-Favela tour- Left D on the beach for this. I had a tour round the poorer part of rio. Saw some messed up things, but not what I expected. Also had my heart in my mouth from the motorbike ride up the hill.
- Lapa Steps- Bright colourful steps by some chilean artist, done it for the community and he still changes the tiles everyday so its never the same.
-The Hostel, when the weather was bad we stayed n chilled with people we met, watched dvds etc!!
-Train ride of the city and over the famous arches (please dont mention this to D , as she is known to get very angry when this subject is brought up).
People
We met some good people here, ranging from the 23 year old brazilian engaged to an american awaiting a visa for the US to a crazy girl from up north who lost her bank cards and money!!
THE END??!!!!!!!!!
Just wanna say a thanks for reading and taking an interest in where we´ve been and what we´ve done, it´s been good and reading all your messages. Thanks to everyone that helped us out, and we are really looking forward to seeing you all on sunday and over the coming weeks.
Last words..I promise.
The last 5 and a half months have been a great experience and something me or D will ever forget. We´ve haggled prices in thailand, been on 24 hour bus journeys in one country, attempted to scuba dive the great barrier reef, bungee jumped, seen world landmarks and have learnt a shed load about different cultures and worlds and a lot more. So thanks once again to Both our families for helping Myself and D live this experience......NO REGRETS.
