Once the sun comes out Dharmashala becomes this wonderful haven with a wicked vibe!
Again we seem to have got stuck in a place, I think we've been here now close to 10 days. We've met some wonderful people here and have been hanging out for the last week with this wicked couple from Sheffield, England, they've also taught us a great new card game (Yanif), which I can see Ant and I playing for hours and hours.
Thanks to my friend Jess I have just completed a Reiki I course, our Reiki Master was a really wonderful teacher, both Jess and I had an amazing experience. So now after a 3 day intensive course I am meant to be able to promote healing with my 'Reiki' hands - Ant has agreed to be my guinea pig so at least he'll be honest if nothing works! For those wondering what Reiki is - its a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
Dharmashala is just a nice place to chill out and take in your surroundings!Though we have managed to visited the Dalai Lama's residence where I bought some special candle holders, we've walked through the woods with prayer flags and prayer wheels to a blissful Gompa and we got lost in the wilderness of upper Bhagsu trying to find a meditation retreat.
Ant's is still poorly, he recently visited a doctor (not a hippie one this time) and was diagnosed as having an upper respiratory infection. He's now on proper medication and seems to - finally - be on the road to recovery, though in this whole process he has lost about 7kg. We just found out yesterday that the dampness of our room must'nt have helped his deteriorating health, we found that both of our backpacks were covered in mould - nice!
So, after spending far too long in a place - again - we are about to move on. We are heading to Rishikesh for a few days and then who knows where.
We are flying out of India on 15th September and heading to Bali/Lombok for 1-month - can't wait to hit the beaches!!
Until then...
