Kia Ora!
How are things? I still doing good, just arrived in Abel Tasmen, where I hope to do some sea kayaking and more hiking. My new hostel is great, I'm staying at 'Old Macdonald's Farm'. It has lots of turkeys, ducks, cows and larma's. It's a lovely setting. Even the sun is shining and the sun block is on. The sun here is very intense and you can burn quickly. Shades, sun block and hats are in!
Here's a run down of Nelson.
NELSON
There are lots of activities to do from bone carving, rock climbing (in door and out), mountain biking, hiking, quad biking, sky wire, horse riding, kite surfing and tandem paragliding. I chose the cheaper options of walking, running and biking.
Nelson has the highest sunshine hours in the whole of NZ. The town hosts many bars, cafes, internet stops and hostels. I stayed at the 'Accents on the Park'. It was a lovely place, very clean and tidy, good kitchen and comfy beds and brilliant staff, who always had a smile and lots of local information. There were alot of tracks to explore in the surrounding hills. I met Kirsten again for a few days before she went to Fran Josef. We made a small effort for Hallowen and bought some masks. We also gatecrashed a party at another hostel but we left early because it was disappointing. Lots of teenagers being very drunk and ill. No Thanks!
I'm looking forward to going to Franz Josef and hiking on the glaciers. I will be here (Abel Tasmen) for afew days and then I will be heading south. I also hope to meet up with a girl called Karen, whom I met on my central americia trip.
Take care as always
Love Annie.
