Today we made our way from Marradi to Rome! We took a small train to Florence then a bullet train to Rome. It went about 240 km/hr. Super nice. In Rome we are staying at Hotel King until Monday. A few blocks from our hotel is the Spanish steps and the Piazza del Popolo. We saw those this evening and did a little window-shopping :) Tours and pictures to come!

We took a fast train from Venice to Florence. Then a small passenger train from Florence to Marradi in Northern Tuscany. Our train was supposed to arrive at the marradi station at 12:55. So at 12:55 we hopped off the train... Looked at the sign on the station and it was not Marradi. What an adventure Venice was!! On Wednesday we took a water taxi from Lido island to Venice. Our Venetian tour was at 11 but we arrived early to check out the meeting spot. When we arrived there was very few tourists walking around. It was nice to see Saint Mark's piazza before the rush of tourists. There are shops lining the bottoms of almost every building. We left Austria and changed trains in Verona. It was amazing to see the difference from the mountains to the vineyards of Italy. We arrived in Venice at 2:30. Walking out of the train station you are on the Grand Canal. We took a ferry to Lido island to our hotel - La Meridia. It's almost on the Adriatic Sea coast. We spent the evening at the beach. Had a panini and a glass of wine. Tomorrow we will tour Venice, see St. Mark's Basilica, and take a gondola ride!

Today we packed up and Lucia took us to the train station in kaufbeuren. We hit the 9:43 train to Munich. We arrived in Munich at 10:30. I ate a deeeelicious doner sandwich. We took a connecting train at 11:30 to Innsbruck, Austria. We sat in the first class car. There was a hallway on inside and small rooms of four seats in each door. The seats were leather recliners and there was plenty of storage. We shared the car with an older couple from Britain. The view ...
