After an extremely long bus journey we have finally landed in Florianopolis - (bit of a gob full!) Also known as Floripa to the locals, which is a handy term for us Spanglish!

Really relaxed here. It's where a lot of Brazilians come on holiday. There are loads and loads of long white sandy beaches. A lot of them are virtually deserted despite it being summer holidays for the Brazilians. I think most have now gone back to the cities for carnival. We have seen a lot of the preparations for carnival with the guys back in Rio, and are quite happy with just that. The prices are astronomical for food and accomodation during carnival, so we are going to flee to argentina anyway! Plus it's difficult for 5 foot 2 inchers to see much in big crowds! ha!

Have had a great time here chilling on the beach with the girls we have met. Even managed to get hold of some wine! woo hoo! All we seemed able to find in Rio was Caipirinha, not that we're complaining! Seen a few crabs, surfers, big bums in tiny little shorts and bikini's - ewww! Neither of us have been able to buy a new bikini as you can barely fit the Brazilian ones over one arse cheek! Gross.
