Up at 5.00 in order to take the pre ordered tuk tuk at 5.30 to Chiang Mai International airport for a Departure time of 6.30. We arrived in at Bangkok airport at 7.45, and I had a very tight schedule in order to meet the connecting flight to Yangon, Myanmar which had a boarding time of 8.15.

Woke again after a restless sleep at 7.30am and headed down for a quick breakfast of muesli in the guesthouse at 8.00 before being picked up at 8.30 by a driver for The Smart Cook Cookery School. Had a restless night due to jet lag, but managed to sleep fitfully till 8.45, when I finally gave in and got up. Wandered into Chiangmai and had breakfast on the way at a small restaurant. The day was then spent wandering round various temples, which Chiangmai is famous for, soaking up the atmosphere, and watching the monks in their daily life.
