Hey everyone!!
So my trip has finally come to the end, I have one more day in India and then it's back to London crazy! India has definitely had it's ups and downs for me, more so than any of the other countries I've visited but it's an amazing place (still wish I'd gone to Goa though!)
The last three weeks I've been travelling through Kerala, I've visited tea and spice plantations in Munnar and Kumily in the beautiful Indian highlands, I've attempted to spot tigers in Chinnar and Periyar National Park (not a sausage both times), and tried to relax on several Indian beaches (pervy Indian men and various pineapple or sarong sellers ruined that one). From Kerala I headed to the very tip of India to see the meeting of two seas and an ocean, really pretty apart from all the rubbish everywhere and the millions of people selling shells with your name on it?! Then I had THE worst train journey ever in the women's only carriage to Madurai, where I think even the cockroaches had more room than we did and they certainly received less attention! I spent literally one day in Madurai and then headed straight back to the beach, this time in Mamallapuram, about 50km south of Chennai. I'm spending my last few days lying on a near enough deserted beach and desperately trying to make the effort to visit some of the rock carvings and temples I know are here. It's never going to happen, I've come to terms with the fact that I really could not give a toss if I saw another temple again ever.
I've met some really nice people and it's going to be sad to say goodbye, plus the thought of going back to work really isn't that appealing.
It's all about drinking awful Indian rum and attempting to find somewhere that plays music tonight. I may have a party in India yet!
Anyway, see you soon! If I remember how to work my mobile there'll be a grand 'turning on' ceremony on Saturday night. Otherwise I'll be in the pub yay!
Love you long time, as if I've bought anyone any presents ha ha!
Anna xxxx
