The waves don't sound amazingly challenging. but maybe that's a good thing when you're learning.

The snow only lasted one day. Lots of people,mainly ones with kids were disappointed... Hmmm...I wasn't... cos my car works better when the tyres can touch the tarmac.

We tested all the plumbing in the house yesterday. Only two leaks in all that plumbing. Can't be bad eh?Shame the boiler doesn't work. The gas board will be coming to do the annual service on the 6th Jan so hopefully they'll be able to fix it.

Have fun in your new digs. I hope they're better than the last place you stayed. Maybe a bit cleaner and less rules would be good from what you've told me anyway. I'll be thinking of you.

Hello,yeah it was great fun! we both really enjoy surfing! Id do it more if i lived somewhere with decent waves.

Its a week on Sat we go to sunshine coast,move to a new hotel this sat for the final week here on the gold coast.

Yeah i heard its been cold back home,i watched the burnley Arsenal match and saw the snow there! glad derby got to the semi final of the cup! Also heard VAT has gone down to 15%,is that true? My online saver account has had all its interest taken off it nearly now,so prob need to change that account when i get home now!

Great looking beach there on the Gold Coast.But where are the surfing waves ! It looks very calm out there lol. I'm glad it stopped raining for you any way.Glad you're sleeping well too. It sounded as if it might be a challenge when you first arrived. Did you sort the double bed out ok ?The sky looks a fantastic blue colour.

Yeah, we have only seen small waves so far, but I bet there are some huge ones sometimes. We are still in the same room, but we move to our next home on sat, so not much longer there. Weather has been much better, lots of sunshine:) Are you enjoying the snow?!

The beach on the Gold Coast looks lovely. Are you and Ian going to try surfing and/or body boarding?

It is actually sunny here at the moment. It looks tempting to go outside, but appearances are deceptive because there is so little warmth in the sun. A big contrast with Oz!

I did not realise that there were skyscrapers on the Gold Coast. What sort of work is available there?

We have tried surfing! Was so much fun! wanna do it again!!! Wind surfing is harder. We may try body boarding yes:)

I hear it has been snowing in the uk! so pretty, you must take some pics.

Yeah, lots of them, it is very much like a holiday resort here. Work is not great here, mainly hostel work and you have to be staying for a min of two months too. Will see about work in Melbourne, but still look about here.

Hi Ian, Just had look at your latest blog and potos. Looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous where you are, (including the hot sunshine). Would love to see the aborigines, thats what its all about. You looked good on stage, grandad says it looks as if they are about to be hung, the ones to your right!. Its still freezing here,dark and miserable. Matt goes to Stoke on Tuesday with dad. He didn,t have a very good result at his match today. Won,t tell you the score. Histon beat Leeds 1-0 final score. Love it when underdogs win. My old team Alfreton lost away to Scunthorpe 4-0. Wished they coukld have beat them, but the,re top of there league. Derby got FOREST GREEN ROVERS away in there next round of cup. You never know, another upset on the books. Forest are away to Man City, won,t hold my breath there. Not sacked Caulderwood yet. Anyway Ian, love you and leave you, look forward to your updated bolgs and more pictures. Hello,yes it was nice there in cairns,moved on now tho but its still nice down here on the Gold coast. Lots of beaches where we are now with big waves so probably just be going to the beach most day while here.

Saw the Alfreton result on TV here,it was on the station thats the same as sky sports news back home! remebered it as thought it was odd it was on over here! Saw Ronaldo get sent off too in the man city game too which was funny!

Derby will probably be on tv for their FA cup game as they are likely to slip up!

Yes forgot he was going there,hope they win! Its not a long trip back if they lose tho so wont be too bad

Hello! Yeah i didnt get up to dance they took people up on stage and i was one of the ones unforunately

The plans are really bright yeah,that was at the tropical gardens in Cairns,you would like it there and its free too.

At gold coast now yeah,had really good weather today here so went to the surfers paradise beach before joining another new gym.

Brought my soveniers to bring home in Cairns,two boomerangs,werent very expensive really either so was good to get them there as they are made by the aboriginals from around cairns

Hi Ian, Just had a lok at latest update on blog and pics. They are lovely, looks just like a paradise island. Hope you do get to see ayres rock, you can stay overnight there, will be a spectacular sight to see it in all its glorious red colour. Derby lost away to Ipswich 0-2 Forest are losing 1-2 to Norwichat the moment, it is an evening kick off so not full time yet. Nightmare season for them. Sorry missed you on line this morning, but was fast asleep. Hope you liked Matts streaks in his hair. He,s going with dad to Stoke match next week. I'm starting in Malaga which is on the south coast of spain then heading over to Madrid for abit, then to Sicily =) Rome in Italy Then Marseille France, Lyon and Paris then back to Cornwall to live there during summer and possibly even do my level 3 over there in sept 2009. xx
