Hey everyone! We're here in Phuket on our penultimate day in Thailand! We've spent the last 2/3 weeks touring around the south, we're been to koh tao, koh phangan, krabi, phang nga, koh phi phi and finally arrived here. On Koh Tao we did our padi diving course, it was a beautiful island, possibly the nicest we visited. It was not too built up and very chilled out. The course was good but required a lot of hard work, including about 3hours of videos and lots of homework!! The diving was amazing though, we saw loads of cool stuff; stingrays, trigger fish, angel fish and virtually the whole cast of finding nemo! We had some good times there, our instructor Santi was really cool. After that we went to Koh Phangan and stayed in a really nice quiet resort, it was really beautiful and we spent most our time lying in hamocks or swimming in the sea. After that we went to Phang Nga which was near the west coast, not the most interesting of places but we went on a long boat tour round the national park which was really fun. Lots of climbing through caves and looking at beautiful scenery. We also saw the island from James Bond (the man with the golden gun) which was cool but it was very busy and touristy. After Phang Nga we went to Krabi which is a beach town, and very over rated the beaches were quite dirty and it rained quite a bit. We hired a scooter though which was really fun and we spent a while zooming up and down the coast and found many random places including a fossil beach and a giant catfish farm! From Krabi we went to Phi Phi where the film "the beach" was filmed, it was really nice small island with no cars which was good but it was very crowded. It meant there were lots of nice people to meet and stories to swap though. On our last night there we went to a bar which had the most amazing fire poi and fire sticks display, quite breath takeing and this chiller that was amazing on the guitar, who sung emilys favouritesong- Iris!! We then came to Phuket but first got stuck in a rain storm with our bags in Phi Phi so we were wet through when we got here. Its wierd to be in a big city again after the chilled relaxingness of the islands. We're leaving later today and in two days will be in Australia! Can't wait! xx
