Into Sydney and off to NZ
On the the 6th of August, one day later than originally expected, our goods arrived in Botany Bay, Sydney. The journey from Singapore has taken the MAERSK RIO DELTA through the Indonesian Islands, north of Java and Timor-Leste, then across the top of Australia passed Darwin and through the Torres Strait by Thursday and Wednesday Islands and down the east coast passing the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast to Sydney. The ship docked at Port Botany in Botany Bay at 13.30. Looking at the tracking software we were able to watch as it moored, being helped into place by two tugs, the 'Svitzer Warang' and its sister ship the 'Svitzer Warrawee' (see pics of Tugs). The MAERSK RIO DELTA stayed moored in the Botany Bay docks before the final leg of the journey to New Zealand. The MAERSK RIO DELTA left the docks at Botany Bay on the morning of the 8th of August at 09.15 with the same two tugs assisting out of its mooring. It is now scheduled to dock at Tauranga, New Zealand on the evening of the 10th of August.
