Blogging has been a challenge because as we have time to type, we are on the open road with no service. Tonight we are tucked into a cozy little slot:) in Albequerque, NM. Yesterday, we hit Carlsbad Caverns, which was amazing and relaxing. We wondered through the Big Room and checked everything out. We did lots of picture taking, some chatter about how amazing they were, wonderment about how exactly they came to be AND, of course, some bickering!!!! We landed finally in Roswell, NM after a successful Walmart outing in Artesia, NM. The Shop-n-Save didn't work out so well, but the SuperWalmart got the job done.
When we awoke, we were planning on heading to Santa Fe. Thankfully, Aunt Julie intervened from afar and we hurried downtown Roswell to take ALL of the UFO/alien stats out. There IS a whole museum to explain the Roswell UFO controversy from 1947. Can't say we left believers, but had some silly fun along the way. As you can imagine, Connor wasn't having any of the eyewitness accounts. NO WAY!:) From there......WhatABurger lunch.
Once we pulled into Albuequerque, we TURNED and BURNED from our 1st RV park. That was a first. We payed our $30 cash, looked around and pulled right out. Thank the GOOD LORD, because if we hadn't we wouldn't have found Kaktus Brewery. This gem was a walk from our home on wheels...featuring elk pizza, bison nachos and buffalo frito pie. Plus, it was belly dancing night. SCORE!! Shoutout to the balloon chase crewman who sat next to us, who inspired us with full details of his job racing along following the paths of hot air balloons.
Sunrise hot air balloon ride for us in the morning....
