We've sadly reached our 1st BIG RIG problemo. We sat on the side of the road outside of Denver for 2 hrs yesterday after "overheating." Roadside assistance arrived and thought they had us up and going. Bad went to worse and we rested our sleepy heads in the 'emergency parking' at the service center. Sloppy joes and a glass of vino never tasted so lovely! We awoke this morning to be told we needed to relocate to a different service center. It's a long 8 miles with your hazards on...stopping every 2 miles to refill fluid to assist with the smoking radiator...with your wife driving behind you in the Jeep to call and report when the fluid leak and smoke is getting out of hand.
We arrived at Diesel Services in Loveland, CO. They have diagnosed the issue as a belt, blah, blah blah. Part is not in the Denver area. Nowhere of course! They are overnighting it here. It MAY be fixed by tomorrow afternoon. Hmmmm....this messes with our schedule a tad. However:
1. We got to try the World Famous Cinnamon Buns at the truck stop.
2. We got to have RV Spa services by Camille on the side of the highway.
3. We got our tow vehicle washed and 4 new tires because metal was showing. ????
4. The girls went for a real pedicure, which was needed on these toes.
5. Getting to stay in a hotel in downtown Denver, which was not on our itinerary.
6. Getting to see Ryan's cousin tonight for dinner, who we love to see and never get to.
