The Ellora and Ajanta caves in Aurangabad were amazing! They are Buddhist caves that once housed hundred of monks and villagers. They are as old as places like Angkor Wat in Cambodia and very beautiful. Luckily for me, you are still allowed to go in an explore the caves up close! In some places you can even see the paintings that were done in BC and up to about 1000 AD. They are still colourful and everything! Protected from the weather, they have maintaine...

Fulfilling my dream to be a Princess in Udaipur, India. I've always loved the idea of being able to stay in a castle or palace and India had given me that chance!! For 3 days I will be a Maharani and plan to take full advantage of it!!! Just walking the grounds tonight was beautiful. The air is scented by jasmine and frangipani growing everywhere - two of my favourites!

Well it's officially been a month since I left home. In some ways it doesn't feel that long but in others I feel I've been gone forever! This struck me as strange when, this afternoon, I flew back in to Delhi and felt, "good to be home!" Not quite home but main base I guess. I really enjoyed Amritsar, and felt a little like a celebrity yesterday! I had 6 groups of people approach me throughout the day and ask for a photo with me. I should have said "100 rupees!!"...

On trek in Nepal Being called "Didi" by Narendra is I'm sure meant as a term of endearment but "big sister" isn't very flattering. Ratne calls Megan "Big Megan" to distinguish from Meghan, who looks about 19 but is actually 28. I'll try not to be so sensitive!
