This is our last day in China. It was another beautiful day in Beijing. We have been very lucky with the weather. We started the day by checking out of the hotel at 9am. Everything was loaded onto the coach and we set off for the Temple of Heaven. This is a place which measures over 2 million square metres and most of that is park. Today started with free time until 11am. Despite not having a 6am wake up call I think a fair few of us were awake around then anyway. We could at least enjoy breakfast at a leisurely pace and then go and explore the local area. We all met up at 11am to make our way to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Today is our first full day in Beijing and this morning we visited the Great Wall. It is a very hot and sunny day today so fortunately we went first thing this morning although it was still hot. About half a dozen of us made it to fortress 12 which was the highest point at this section of the wall.
