Koh Phangan,
I arrived with Di after leaving Koh Samui, the place which took me 26 hours to get to and only stayed for 12 hours (including sleep) as it was so rubbish. We got ourselves a bungalow, which was right on the beach so that was great. She'd already been here before, so I got taken on a tour. It's supposed to be a real party town, but felt really chilled. Went down to the beach and sat at a bar and really just did not a lot, but that was good! That night just had something to eat and a few drinks but nothing mad.
The next day was again a real day of doing not a lot! We headed down to the beach and this time spent some time in the sun!! White beaches with palm trees and the sea was lovely - just the right way to spend a day!! That night we headed down to Headrin Beach, where all the bars are set out along and went to the drop in bar. All the chairs are on the beach and they have entertainers doing all the fire spinning, dancing and flame-throwing. It was amazing to watch and you just steadily have a few drinks served in buckets. Later they have the chance for people to jump through a ring of fire and I was the 1st to do it!!! As the night goes on, the party just carries on and it's a real carnival atmosphere. The rest of our time in Koh Phangan was sat around lazing on the beach by our bungalow eating and at the drop in bar on the beach, although we did have a routine at around 7 each day. Di would have a sleep and I would go to this bar where I'd made friends with the owner and staff for a beer or 2. Then met her at 9-ish for dinner!! All in all a real lazy fun time - now its off to Koh Tao finally to do my diving course.
