Palenque Ruins We were up with the dawn today ready for an early start at the ruins after a slightly disturbed night due to a group of howler monkeys making a racket at 2 in the morning (it sounded like a group of ferocious beasts fighting around us) and were relieved that it was cool and fresh after the heat of yesterday. Palenque We were rudely awoken at about 6:30 today as the driver told everyone to get off the bus for 20 mins so he could go and refuel. Since we were supposed to be arriving in an hour we assumed that this meant the bus was late. We soon returned to the bus and our fears proved to be correct as it was 9 by the time we actually reached Palenke. Bus time again We hadn't planned much for today as we were leaving later on to get the bus to Palenke, so when we got up for breakfast we were surprisd to see so much activity in the hostel. It turns out that there is a free concert on in the Zocalo this evening and people are heading there from 12ish onwards to be part of the expected 200,000 crowd gathering to see Paul McCartney!! Internet and back to Mama Rumba. Despite being exhausted from yesterday we still managed to drag ourselves out of bed in time for breakfast this morning. Our plan for the day had been to meet a friend from back home, but with no message from her it turned out not to be possible, instead we spent all day deciding what we want to do for the rest of our time in Mexico, looking up bus times, finding accommodation, etc... Of course this took a very long time due ...

Teotihuacan Very early start this morning, we were up and eating breakfast with Rachael who was coming with us, by 7.45 and even managed to get out the door by 8.30 which honestly I wasn't expecting!
