We woke up once again as the breakfast bell went at around 6:20. Once again breakfast consisted of crackers, marge and coffee. This morning Mae managed to borrow Jose's chess set and after a few games of cards we spent most of the morning playing each other on the top deck and stopping every so often to take some pictures until the bell went for lunch. There was the normal spaghetti, rice and bean stew for lunch with the addition of some pieces of grilled chicken which we enjoyed very much. While at lunch we talked for some time to a couple of the other tourists who were from Poland. We eventually got kicked out of the mess room around 2 and proceeded back upstairs to continue our games of chess and picture taking. By dinner time we had played almost 15 games with Mae winning only 2 and one with no result (she thinks I moved a piece and I don't). We were both impressed by the spaghetti bolognaise on offer for dinner though as well as the coffee provided, so much so that we both decided to have 2 plates worth and were once more the last to leave the mess hall!! This time however we went back upstairs with several companions including Jose, Thaire, Les, Jann and his girlfriend. We all ended up playing chess together/studying Portuguese as well as drinking the last of our rum with some of the delicious coffee on offer. Jose and myself played several games before deciding it was time to stop as Mae wanted biscuits and to play cards. After her sweet tooth had been satisfied we spent the rest of the evening playing 'stress' (her favourite card game) and grabbed another beer before heading down to our hammock to listen to a little of our book before bed time.
