Hello all, another Groundhog Day here or we might call it "four have a jolly good time in France". We have enjoyed lots here and we have enjoyed cheapskating. Shop bought baguettes are as tasty as those bought in cafes,
we sneer at Chateaux that demand entrance fees and we sneak round the back for our photos etc.

Our French accents are improving, although our vocabulary remains rooted in Salford. Nous sommes having un tres bon vacances. AB.

Firstly from me today, a sincere formal apology for the way I insulted Jon's ridiculous trunks. " I sincerely apologise for insulting your ridiculous trunks, Jon" There, I feel better for that!
Today's drama surrounds Andy's barbecue lighting prowess. As I speak he has used every combustible item within 100 yards and still no sign of life. If Jon's trunks were a little bigger they would perhaps have joined the fuel pile. Sorry, another apology will follow tomorrow. We are currently using the bed slats a la Colditz to light the BBQ! Could be an interesting night's sleep. Raw sausage and steak for tea tonight.APL

Ok, apology accepted, so I won't ridicule Al's grey goaty beard now ... Oh dear ... this is how WW1 started! ... Anyway, we have had another glorious day today ... Good cycling, splendid weather, good banter, and high quality food ... Of course, maintaining the latter is dependent on getting this pesky BBQ going, as 4 allegedly intelligent adults struggle to create FIRE, that most basic commodity necessary for the survival of the human race ... BBQ now going. This is very fortunate since we have bought what seems 10 kilo of meat. Andy is master chef tonight since he has proved in previous years to be quite adept with the tongs. Going off the natives they have had a very poor summer until now and things are 4 weeks behind. One chap said that it has felt as though they were having an English summer! 26 degrees today so not too hot for cycling. Usually between 12.00hrs and 15.00hrs it is too hot to do anything around here apparently. Again great day in all respects. BBQ now ready so signing off. DH
