If it was 10 degrees cooller here we would have 10 feet of snow! It hasn't stopped raining for ages and I'm in the process of building an ark.
Is it much warmer in Buenos Aires? It can't be anything like as cold as it was down south. I would love to have a go at skiing, is it bad on the knees?
I'm at work at the moment preparing lessons for next year in a totally empty classroom - what bliss! Our kids are away this week because it's been induction days for new students and inset days for us. We've got people from the 3 armed services here recruiting, but I haven't a clue why, because there are no students for them to meet.
We finish in a week's time, but before then I have another interview and assessment for teaching training to get through. I'm a bit apprehensive about my prospects because they might consider me too ancient. I did well with my last assessment getting 97%, but this one might include maths and then I'll get minus 97%!
Is there any chance Nick and Phil will catch up with you or are you too far ahead?
Better do some real work, so bye for now.
Have fun.
Love Dad
Nick
Hey guys,
Sounds like you've had a fun few days skiing!!! When does it start gettig REALLY cold?! The furthest south we've been so far is Uyuni. Its bloody cold enough there!!!!!! I didnt sign up for this!!!!! ;) We're in Santa Cruz in Bolivia at themoment. We're heading back north towards Cusco. We have to be there at least 3 days in advance of the Inca Trail, but we're hoping to get some rafting done, so the aim is the get there for around the 19th.
Thanks for the email by the way!!! You'll have to keep them coming with tips of places to go in Argentina!!! (Shame we were never able to catch up for that Boca game!!!!!) :)
Anyway, I think the 'catch up BBQ' may turn into some kind of indoor event judging by the crappy English weather!!!!! Can't wait to meet up,
Nick

I don't believe it you have a new phone!!! Are you going to give your old brick a proper burial!?!? Next to all the deceased fish and lobster!!
The weather here is still chilly but we're heading north now so were very excited at the prospect of sun shine and beaches. We also have to do something about our farmer tans from skiing but were not quite as bad as some people we saw on the slops! Women walking round with what can only be described as tan beards!! Very amusing!
Skiing was brilliant nearly as good as rugby and definably as dangerous! Think I'll be skiing a lot more in the future, maybe only at Sheffield for the next few years because that's all I can afford at the moment!!!
Anyway how's the kitchen work progressing are you getting to boys working hard at it!?!
Lots of love Andrew and Soph

Andrew I've had to give in at last and buy a new phone, the brick is in its death throws, my new one when it arrives is PINK!!! how cool is that???
Those chocolate flakes looked delicious Sophie in your last lot of pics, surely you didn't eat a whole one did you Sophie????!!!!! Bet Andrew did!!!!

Trust the ski-ing is going well! It must as you've not updated your blog for over a week!Weather here is disasterous but nowhere near as bad as parts of Yorkshire and the Midlands where they have had serious floods. Oh for a dry day! Take care. Write soon please.
Love Mum W xx

20 hr bus journey....it sounds like hell! Bet you're looking forward to having your own wheels again! Wonderful photos and awsome stories - your blog is great! I'd love to go whale watching - you lucky people.
Just been on the official Las Lenas site and see that it was snowing on 22nd 04.07 local time and -5C. From what I could see via the live camera's (very dark but still nightime I suppose), it looked like there was plenty of snow. Anyway apparently this is Argentina's largest ski resort and it has "a modern system to make artificial snow". so no worries even though it is very early in the season. Aparently it has excellent extreme skiing and heli-skiing due to a 1200 metre vertical drop!!!! Please stick to the green runs!!!!!Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy but stay safe.
Chris & Keith are coming over from Leeds today. Not seen them for ages, so lots to catch up on.
Much love to you both,
Mum W xx

Aunty Rose
Just looked at the Lake District slideshow with your mother. Colours were fantastic but it looks bloody cold. I was in Puerto Mont, way back in '99, but El Bolson looks a bit more exciting. Your whale watching experiences sounded fantastic. Fancy being able to watch them from the shore. Had Grandma and Kathleen for lunch yesterday. English food is FABULOUS - far better than vinegar cabbage and shrivelled willies! Doing the irioning (as you do!) and later going to the eye hospital with Grandma. What an exciting European holiday! But I wouldn't miss it for quids!
Lots of Love and keep safe and, remember, trust nobody!

Hi Guys
It was great to talk to you again. I hope you're not too cold. Are you both feeling better?
Since we spoke and we were bragging about the good weather, everything has changed and now it's wet, cold and windy.
I really envy you seeing the whales, it's something I would love to see. The photos are great.
