Howdi to all!!
Well, as you will all know we have now been in Perth since November (23rd to be precise!). What an eventful few months we have had! We are staying with Roy &Co for one month and then Dave & Co for the next month.....so on and so on. We are currently at Dave's.
First was Christmas which was very very hot! The day started off with us opening our presents at Roy's house. We got some CDs each and a nekclace for Grace and some Family Guy things for Andy. Also Grace's parents sent over Andy a LCFC calendar and Grace some LCFC flashing antlers. On Christmas Day we all went round to Michelle's parent's house and had dinner with them. Of course they are poms so the dinner was delicious and we also had some UK Birdseye custard to go with our christmas pud - excellent! Michelle's family have a traditional water fight which Andy, Roy, Dave and Nessa all got very wet in! Boxing Day everyone was round Roy's and we did a roast dinner which was also delicious (with Grace's mum's yorkshire puddings) It reached 45 degrees on Boxing Day - what a scorcher it was!!! We played games with the girls and generally stayed inside the house with the aircon blasting out.
New Years eve we went to Gloucester Park which is where they have the trots (modern day chariot racing). We both won some money and drank lots and then enjoyed the fireworks afterwards, they were pretty spectucular and went on for a long time. We had a really good time but of course missed our friends. It was also quite wierd being in another year before everyone else.
Australia Day was celebrated on 26 January 2008. We went to Kings Park with Dave & Co. Natalie, Ness and Michelle got all dressed up in their Aussie gear. We took a picnic and watched the fireworks at night - they were even better than the New Years Eve ones.
Andy started his job in November car washing and Grace started her job in January working as a legal secretary for the Australian Government Solicitor. Both jobs are going well and we are working with lots of Aussies and learning their way of life - too easy!
We have visited The Perth Mint, Hillarys (a boat yard/harbour), Aqwa (Aquarium), Perth Zoo, Cottesloe beach, Caversham Wildlife Park, Bell Tower, Go Karting, Grace saw Lionel Richie in consert and he was very good!. We have done some snorkelling and Andy has been to Rottness Island. We even managed to go to a Perth Glory game where we wore our LCFC shirts and met some fellow supports! :) However, we did see some Coventry and Nottingham Forest supporters - bbbbooooo! We have been watching Roy and Dave in their motorcross races so we have been learning lots about their sport and enjoyed seeing them.
Andy's 23rd birthday was last weekend (9th March). Chris, Gemma and Grace got him the Australian National Shirt with Kewell 10 on the back. We went to Burswood Casino on the Friday night where fun was had by all. Gemma and Chris coming out of it $90 (45 pounds approx) richer! Roy didnt bet - he was there for the beer of course! On the Sunday we went to Adventure World which is a theme park come water park.
We have now booked our ticket home and shall be home in the summer. We shall be leaving Perth in May and we are currently saving for our trip to Brisbane/Gold Coast, New Zealand (we loved it so much there we just have to go back) and Hong Kong.
Keep up with the messages, we check them most days.
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
