Friday 6 November
We get up early and walk to the bus station. It's a nice ride along the beach pomade. Terminal transfer bus then straight through security where we eat breakfast. The flight isn't packed which is nice. There was one upset 'gentleman' (debatable I guess) who was getting very upset because his 'carry on' bag didn't fit in the measuring frame. It's otherwise a non eventful flight. In Basel we buy our tickets for the bus and train. It's a lovely day for a train ride and the countryside is pleasant. In Bern we head for our hostel getting there just in time to drop our bags off as the office girl was leaving. They shut for 3 hours! Seems a bit odd, but never mind. We buy some lunch and head to a park to eat it. We have to get up off our seat because they are swapping them. They unscrewed the seat, lifted it away and replaced it with a seemingly identical seat! It's a cool day, but lovely in the sun. We relax for a few hours before walking about and then finally checking in. At least for all the expense here we do get a 'free' bus and tram 3 day pass. We head out for buy food before sabbath and cook dinner when we get back. It's a lovely well-Stocked kitchen! Even victorinox knives! After a little rest we head out for another walk around then back for the night.
