Saturday 5 September
I sleep in late. It's after 9. I guess there's something to be said for dark bed curtains. No natural light interrupting the sleep you need. We have breakfast and just relax until it's time to pack up and leave. It's raining outside and not appealing. When we actually get outside it's not raining so we head off to the metro station. We toss up between walking to red square or straight to the new hotel. We decide on straight to the hotel and it's good we did as the square was locked up for city celebrations we learned later. We check in and watch the rain roll across the city and a nearby park. We are to meet with the new group at 6pm. The lobby is very busy now where before it was quiet. The CEO masha is from Mongolia and gives us forms to fill. Eventually we move to another room and go over some more details. 2nd class Train leaves tomorrow at half midnight. 4 days. No wifi I don't think. Guess there isn't much need in the desert. Hope I can catch up on my reading.
We go out for dinner and learn vegetarian is very Russian. A least there are potatoes.
There are lovely and different fireworks to celebrate the city at 10:30 and the 18th floor is a good view.
