Wednesday 1st April We have to check out by 9:30 so we get up and sort and pack our stuff for the inca trail. We are only allowed 2.5kg as we are hiring sleeping bags and mattresses. Also to go in the bag equalling 6kg. After breakfast we go for a walk to buy ponchos. We see lots of small backpacks also. We buy ponchos and sun hats and wander around the shops. I don't know how the shops survive with everyone selling the same stuff right next door to each other....

Tuesday We have to be ready to go by 8:15 for our rafting trip. We had pre purchased ours with a deal with the travel agent. Monday 30th We arrive in Cusco just after 7am feeling pretty tired and hungry. We wait in the terminal for our transfer bus to arrive. We can't get directly to our hostel as lots of roads are closed for Easter celebrations. We have to walk a few blocks up cute pebble and cobblestone streets. Sunday We have to leave at 8, but we wake well before the alarm. I slept well but my headache is pounding! I take water and chew on some coco leaves (used for altitude and other things) which helps a little. I have no paracetamol with me unfortunately and I don't want to take voltaren. Saturday We had to arise early, eat breakfast at 6am and leave by 6:45 to travel out to a canyon about 2hrs away to view condors (birds) and walk around canyon face. The canyon is one if the deepest in the world. It is about 1 degree so very fresh. A beautiful clear day. Along the way we see little villages (we are staying in the Provence capital).
