Friday 7 August We leave by 6:40am and walk to the bus stop. But the bus is late by about 10 minutes! We are about to go by another route when it arrives. While we wait there is a man in a wheelchair that talks to us. He guesses we are from Australia. It's a long bus ride, but we make it in time to catch the train to the airport. Thursday 6 August We try and sleep in. Then enjoy breakfast. We take the public transport into the science and industry museum. It seems to take of so long on the public transport. There is lots to see and it's an interesting day. We miss our last bus coz the 1st bus doesn't arrive. Then we miss the train. It's just leaving once we have our tickets. We buy Chinese on the way back and enjoy it. Fun packing for early morning exit.

Wednesday 5 August We get up early and have breakfast before heading out to catch the public transport into town. Field museum! We spend most of the morning and leave after lunch. There are a few good exhibits. We decide to go to the art institute. I loved their miniature rooms display and saw some art only previously seen in pictures. Tuesday 4 August We hear domestics in the night. The sound proofing is pretty good. It's a worrying sound. It's always hard to know if someone else should be involved - like the police. Mal leaves but comes back to wake me telling there is breakfast served and there are waffles. I get up and get food before cut off time at 10am. After breakfast I get ready and we leave for town. Monday 3 August We get up and check in. Then straight through us customs. Cuts down time at the other end. All up takes about an hour and we board directly when we reach the gate. It's a small plane with firm seats. I try and continue my fitful rest for the rest of the flight. At Chicago airport we sit and try and decide what to do. To hire a car and tent or bus and hotel.
