Tuesday 6 October
Once up we research our day and eat some breakfast. We are glad for our umbrella's as the weather is almost constantly dripping on us. On the way to the ferry we walk down the very flash fashion shops. The same the world round. The ferry is fun but short and we are near central Hong Kong. We catch a bus to Aberdeen harbour and we get a small junk boat trip around. It's fascinating. In not sure this is somewhere I would want to live. It seems ppl live in these fishing boats or houseboats. There is a floating restaurant too. It's not so simple to know which bus to catch back but with walking and checking out throbs routes we pass we figure one to catch. It stops near a mall and there is a vegetarian good place there so we decide to get some. Malcolm's is nice, but mine is so bitter I can't eat it! Thankfully it came with rice. Next is the peak. So we walk to the tram line and catch it to the top. It's a popular place and there is a mall at the top. We get a good 360 view as we battle the weather. On the way down we walk via some beautiful parks. We get the subway to what we plan as the last stop: the nunnery and garden. It feels like a mission getting there, but it's worth it. They are opposite each other and amazingly beautiful and peaceful. Back at our building we are able to get wifi and pick a place for dinner. 2 out of 3 dishes are good, but we are disappointed they charged us for stuff they delivered but we didn't order. I guess that's one way to increase business. Malcolm is feeling a bit better so we decide to head to the night markets! It's interesting. Cheap electronics and knock off bags. Plus other junk. So many shops are open late. We avoid the hawkers selling tailored services, watches and bags. It's so nice to sit and relax after moving all day. Bring on day 2!
