We have just arrived back to Cairns from our adventure at the Whitsundays. We hired a Chubby Camper and drove 1500KM from Cairns to Airlie Beach and back. We managed to get the van back in one piece without breaking down or having any problems. The roads are so different to in the UK, with just one big long road and hardly any other cars. Just leaving Port Douglas and we are travelling back to Cairns to pick up our Chubby Campervan. We have had a great time here and it was really worth the wait to get on a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. We have had plenty of time to relax here and are ready for the real travelling to begin with our trip to Airlie beach. Just arrived at our hotel in Port Douglas. We will be staying at Oak Lagoons for the next 8 nights. The hotel is great we have a spa on our balcony. It's quite far out which is probably why we got such a good deal. Fingers crossed that the sun will come out later!

This is our last day in Cairns before we head to Port Douglas. We have mainly spent days by the pool and tried to adjust to the time zone. We have been hit by the jet lag this week and are really tired. The weather has not been good enough to get on a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef but there is still time.
