The bus stopped around 9am and we were shouted to get off. There was a cafe where we were served fresh croissants and coffee.....for free!!
Buses here are a lot nicer than Australasia as we are served food!! We boarded the bus again and it wasn't long and we had arrived in BA at 11:30am.
The girls jumped in a taxi and it was over 100 Argentina Dollars so Ed and I decided to get the metro it wasn't difficult and only cost 5!!
We got to the hostel and checked in the others had booked one down the road. It was a relaxed afternoon in the hostel where we enjoyed lunch whilst watching the game. After our room was ready we finally showered it felt good!!
I was really nice and managed to bring both mine and Eds bag up in the lift I was impressed and Ed was shocked haha!!
We then met some nice Ozzy girls in our room and a yank which after our shower we watched the second game of the day with!! We returned back to our room and stayed up late talking, our friends were going out but as it was the Argentina game tomorrow I didn't want to be too tired or hungover so we saved ourselves.
It was now July, wow how time has flown it's ridiculous!! We were so fresh when we got up and had the yummy free breakfast and got ready for the Argentina game! We were happy about our decision last night as all our friends were not as spritely!
We met others at the hostel and decided to make our way via the metro to the fan park to watch the game. We all painted our faces and got flags to join in with the hectic atmosphere!! It was crazy we witnessed fireworks being set off in the streets! The metro was a deafening sound of horns and cheers. We made it to the park and watched the first half of the game. It wasn't that great a view and so busy that we decided to head back to the hostel to watch the second half. I could sense a few dodgy people around and would feel safer in a bar.
It was a great game!! Of course Argentina won and we began celebrations. We snacked before getting ready to go out and then met our friends! The party was at our hostel tonight and we had a crazy night, it got so busy. At 2am the staff chucked everyone out and we made our way to the club-Hype! The taxi ride wasn't too long and we partied till 6am!! We managed to sneak our way into VIP Ed and I which was apparently $100 to get in haha it was great! Although the drinks were expensive so we spent a lot!!
The next day was tough for Ed!! I woke him up for breakfast and he went back to sleep! We got up around 2pm after catching up with some sleep and ventured out after a shower for fresh air! Ed again ate nothing but I enjoyed a mighty steak sandwich yum yum!! We got back late and Ed had another nap which sorted him out! He then made his way to get lots of pizza. I booked the bike tour for the next day for us all in our room. After Ed ate he then clumsily hit his head on the metal cage we store our valuable things in, he stumbled back and blood streamed down his face which was scary but we cleaned it up and popped a plaster on him. He went to bed again with a headache :(
On the 3rd we woke up from such a great sleep and Ed thankfully felt miles better! We had breaky, got ready and met in the lobby for the bike tour. The weather looked especially nice today too so when we set off on our special bikes with baskets I was made up!! There was around 30 of us on the tour so we split into 2 groups!
We had so much fun biking the hectic streets of Argentinas capital! We did the whole of the South of the city which is the older/poorer part. All of our room done it together we had a lovely afternoon. We saw memorials for the Falklands and witnessed a march mothers do every Thursday who have lost their children in the dictatorship. We pictured the pink government house and other iconic buildings. We then cycled around the old dock and by the waters edge near an ecological reserve where we stopped for lunch. We tucked into a cheap chorizo salad baguette it was so so tasty!!
We cycled past the only casino in the city/country as it's not legal but it's built on water so it's allowed so strange. Finally we cycled through the old dodgy streets of La Boca where children played real street football it was great to see! We then saw the stadium otherwise known as their church which they visit every Sunday and sing!! In La Boca is the colourful buildings and one of which is where Tango originated so we walked around the busy cobbled streets!
We had a great day and headed back on our bikes through rush hour. We crossed the widest street in the world and made it back in time to quickly freshen up, change and head to meet our friends at a steak house-Don Julio's. It had been booked as it gets so busy so we jumped in a taxi and rushed to get there for 8pm!
We made it and enjoyed a lovely evening filled with delicious steak, red wine and great company. Compared to other food out here it is expensive but for Ed and my meal it came to £38!!! And it was hands down the best steak we have EVER eaten!! We were so full it hurt haha, we had to sit and digest!!
We grabbed taxis back and got ready before heading to their hostel where the party was tonight. It was another great night where we left the club at 6am! We met some lovely people and befriended some Ozzies that lived near us out there-spooky!!
We didn't get up till 3pm the next day haha we showered and went down to catch the football. We enjoyed a cheap dinner at the hostel and spent the rest of the evening in our room with our friends. We decided not to go out as we had to check out early but instead the party came to us. We had a tiny room and it was filled with over 30 people.
Some young Brazilian girls came in and spoke in Portuguese about how they we're fond of Ed and they had no idea our friend could speak Portuguese too and he told me to say to them that I was his girlfriend which was quite funny! They were so shocked others could speak their language!
Finally everyone went out and we stayed and watched a film on our friends tablet before falling asleep!!
On the 5th of July we sadly checked out! We really enjoyed this hostel probably one of the best we have stayed in. It was fun and made a lot of friends. Like always we all added each other on Facebook and waved each other off until next time!! Strangely an Australian in our room once lived with one of our school friends in Wootton which we were amazed about, this world continues to be so small!!
The weather happened to be so bad so plans to visit the famous cemetery and see the street markets were called off. Instead we watched the football and relaxed before our long bus journey to Puerto Iguasu!!
Our friends we made in Peru-The Scots came to join us and after we had a walk around the famous Florida street shops, window shopping of course! The weather thankfully had cleared up a bit.
We made our way back to the bus station via the metro and hopped on our bus! We left at 7 and hoped to arrive around lunch time. Through boredom we both fell asleep pretty early.
We awoke to 2 meals the bus provided which we had slept through- cold empanadas, muffins and biscuits. We didn't fancy either and went hungry! The couple next to us were playing Argentinian music so loud Ed demanded it stopped haha and I have stumbled across a cold dammit!!
We finally arrived at 4:30pm so spent the best part of the day on the bus!! We walked in the rain to find our hostel and checked in! We were starving so headed straight out to eat! We tucked into a hearty pasta dish each yum and headed back to shower and sort our bags out. We spent the rest of the evening booking hostels and making plans so we didn't have to worry any longer.
I had a rubbish night sleep but thankfully we had our own room! We got up showered had breakfast and put our bags in storage before heading off to catch the bus to see Iguassu Falls. We stocked up on lunch and snacks and got the bus.
The day happened to be such lovely warm weather and we thoroughly enjoyed walking around the falls it was phenomenal!!! I held our lunch in a plastic bag and a nasty raccoon stole it from me, Ed found this hilarious but it scared me a lot how much force it had!! Ed wasn't happy with me for loosing lunch however. Sadly parts of the falls were shut due to the heavy rain recently. We took lots of pictures before leaving to head back to the hostel. We grabbed our things out of storage and caught another bus to cross the boarder. We got our stamps and filled our forms out and had to wait for another bus over the boarder.
It was sad to wave Argentina off we enjoyed it very much!! Until next time...
