Was super excited to see the canal! Was lucky enough to be there in the morning to watch the Miraflores lock work her magic as a cargo shipped from Hong Kong steamed through. Something utterly mesmerising & also nostalgic about watching it. So old fashioned but so clever! Wow after 2 months of travelling my first glimpse of the skyscrapers in Panama City made me feel like I had travelled into the future. Perhaps I had arrived in Panem (oh my excitement about the hunger games must be playing with my mind)!

Great day of snorkelling & deserted desert island beaches. More swimming with sharks, this time white tipped reef sharks. Despite being covered in suncream still managed to burn my bum!

Started the day with some horse riding. Sadly the horses had been very badly treated & were clearly terrified.Trotting along the beach was lovely but when the guide tried to make the horses go up & down some scarily steep paths they got very upset. After a hideous day of travelling which I find too horrific to recount we finally arrived at Oasis Surf Camp, Santa Catalina. We were so lucky to have a cabin right on the beach complete with hammock, pet crab & scorpion!
